Keith has a long and distinguished career in public service. His fire service career spans nearly four decades with fire agencies both in and outside of California. He served 15 years with the Elk Grove CSD Fire Department, including three years as chief, before his retirement in 2006. He also has more than 20 years of law enforcement experience, including service with the FBI, the Grass Valley Police Department and the Nevada County Sheriff's Department, where he continues to serve as a reserve deputy sheriff. Keith served with the U.S. Air Force in special operations in Vietnam. He resides in Elk Grove, where a new CSD fire station expected to open in 2008 will be named in his honor.
